Weekend Race Report June 30, 2008

Stepping Up

Kate Ross promised herself she would go the Olympic Distance this year and she is doing just that. She finished the Stamford KIC IT Triathlon in a time of 2:17 that gave her 2nd overall Female. She makes the 'step-up' look easy!

Shelley Probber and Michelle Lester stepped up to the challenge of the Buffalo Springs 70.3 Event. Shelley placed 14th in the AG 50-54. Unfortunately Michelle experienced a flat that left her race very short of expectations.

Meanwhile Daniel Vertiz participated in the TriRaider Sprint. He had a great race finishing 10th overall and 1st in the AG15-17.

Congrats to Mark Saroni & Jeff Campbell who participated in the University Oaks Crit. Mark finished 3rd in the Cat 5 race and Jeff finished with the pack in the Cat 3/4 event. Good job guys.

Weekend Race Report June 23, 2008

Conquering the Elements

Congratulations goes to the event organizers of the 2008 HyVee Triathlon in DesMoines. Although the excessive rain caused a very dramatic week, they pulled off an incredible event, crowned two Olympians and showed what teamwork can accomplish.

Unfortunately the uncertainty of the event caused great attrition in IconOne attendance. However, a huge At-a- Girl goes to Kate Ross who Won the Junior Elite Female division with the fastest bike and run splits of the day.

Also competing in the Male Youth Elite division were Jake Broyles (19th) and Talbot Cox (23rd). Both competed very well and gained valuable experience that they can carry into the camp and upcoming national championships in August.

Weekend Race Report June 7, 2008

Congrats to Mark Saroni &
Travis Decker

They finished 8th & 10th respectively at World Championships on July 6th!

The day was incredibly cold with the water temperatures only 11degrees Celcius(51F). The bike and run offered little more with wind and rain and 13Celcius(55F). It was an incredibly GREAT moment for IconOne and each of these great athletes as they proved to be tough competitors in equally challenging conditions.

Way to go guys!!!
