Weekend Race Report April 21, 2008
It was a very busy weekend for IconOne and Team Gecko. We had athletes racing in Mazatlan, Mexico; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and New Braunfels, Texas. WOW!
New Braunfels:
First I must recognize Shelley Probber for her effort on April 13 at the Aquarena Springs Triathlon. She is on a roll with a 2-0 this season. She completed a very strong run to finish first in the AGF50-54. You go girl!
Results
Then the Geckos took to the course for the first time this season. Race director and Gecko parent John Riley received rave reviews for his efforts while managing the Schlitterbahn Triathlon.
Athlete Results:
Alicia Morales - 1st AGF 9-10
Rebekka Broyles - 5th AGF 9-10
Mason Riley - 1at AGM 11-12
Tuscaloosa, Alabama
1-2-3 & WE ARE GOING TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!
Definitely inspired by the Olympic Trials held on Saturday,
Travis Decker (5th Overall- 1st Male Junior),
Mark Saroni (7th Overall - 2nd Male Junior), and
Alexandra Weber (7th Overall Female and 3rd Female Junior) left no doubt that they are ready to compete in Vancouver in June.
Junior World Qualifier (Tuscaloosa Triathlon) results
Mazatlan, Mexico.
Kate Ross had a bit of bad luck as incredibly rough surf (10-12ft swells- no joke!) and a flat tire left her short of her goals. None- the- less, we are waiting for information from USAT as to her ability to compete at the world championships. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
Pan American Champ Results:
CONGRATS to all!
Next up:
April 24th: Harold Hixon competes at the Sr. Games - Cycling
April 26th:
Jake Broyles will compete at the USAT National Duathlon Championships in Richmond, VA in the hopes of earning a spot on TEAM USA for Short Course Duathlon in Rimini, Italy on September 27-28, 2008

Weekend Race Report April 9, 2008
Congrats to Shelley Probber, 1st Overall Female at the Sr. Games of Texas Triathlon San Antonio on Saturday.
Here is her comment from the race:
"Had a great race. My T1 was way too long, but I came in 1st! Almost beat the first male, but I just couldn't catch him."
It is important to note that she has improved her swim by over :15/100! Toodles to all the hard work this winter. Do I dare say her age???? :-).
You GO GIRL!
